« Love yourself enough to set boundaries.«
Being a content creator is one of the hardest jobs out there, your brain has to be working 24 hours, you aren’t just creating content, you have to come up with marketing strategies, and constantly thinking of how to generate engagement without caving only to the pressure from outside.
As a content creator your heart has to be in sync with whatever you are doing because creativity comes from within, so when you only cave to the pressure from outside your content begins to lose originality, and that audience that is there because of your originality would lose interest.
So it gets annoying when brands belittle you, or propose a offer with little or no pay and it is even more annoying when they offer you exposure in return for your services and because it is a little hard to say no, you take up a job that you have no interest in,
As a content creator, collaborations are a major source of income, and every opportunity seems like Gold, but you don’t have to say yes to every job.
In fact if your values and a brand’s value contrasts with that of the brand, you don’t have to do the job, because you content is a representation of who you are, what you put up on your platform is what people will identify you with.
Would you rather deal with the awkwardness of saying no or be known as someone who supports a brand that’s a scam?
Saying yes to a job that you don’t really want to do can cost you a lot because you would lack enthusiasm and when you eventually get the work done, you’ve probably done nonsense or something below your standard, your audience will notice and when other brands look through what you’ve done, they’d see that work that is below your standard.
Don’t soil/ruin your career trying to please others.
